A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, born in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, rose from humble beginnings to become a renowned scientist and the 11th President of India. After studying aerospace engineering at the Madras Institute of Technology (MIT), he joined ISRO, where he led the successful launch of India's first satellite in 1980. Known as the "Missile Man of India," Kalam played a key role in the development of ballistic missiles like Agni and Prithvi and India's 1998 nuclear tests. In 2002, he was elected President of India, and was admired for his humble leadership and commitment to youth empowerment. After his presidency, he dedicated his time to teaching and inspiring students. He passed away on July 27, 2015, while delivering a lecture. The Bharat Ratna awardee Kalam is remembered as a visionary leader who advanced India's space and defence programs while igniting young minds nationwide. He was widely known as the "People's President" for his humble and approachable nature.
