He is remembered as a real hero of the Indian Air Force, a Squadron Leader whose brave acts and giving up his life during the 1965 Indo Pak war still give courage to people. He was born on 03 August 1932, he was a devoted officer known for his great flying skills and strong promise to his job. He was part of No. 1 Squadron "The Tigers." His actions during the 1965 war, mainly the air fight on 07 September 1965, near Sargodha, Pakistan, made his place in history firm. Even though he was less in number, he bravely fought enemy planes, showing great skill and courage. It's said that his dog fight was like a scene from an exciting Bollywood action movie, but this was real. His work friends often praised him as a good pilot. As one fellow officer said, "He was a man of action, always ready to face any challenge." His giving up his life, though it led to his death, let other Indian Air Force pilots go back safely. In 1988, he was given the Maha Vir Chakra after death, India's second highest award for bravery, a proof of his amazing courage and not thinking about himself. His story is still a strong reminder of the promise and giving up of the men and women who work in the Indian Air Force.
