Anand Teltumbde - A Lifestory
Voice For Justice: Scholar, Writer, Activist. Truth Prevails

A wellknown Indian thinker, writer, and person who fights for people's rights has lived a life that has caused strong feelings both for and against him. His ideas come from his deep understanding of how class and caste work in India. This has made him a key voice for people who are often ignored. He was born into a Dalit family and saw for himself the unfair ways things were set up, which shaped how he saw the world. He has a PhD and has studied engineering and management. This led him to a good job in the business world at first. But the big differences he saw and events like the movement against caste made him want to spend his life working for fairness. His writings, like the books "The Persistence of Caste: The Khairlanji Murders and India" and "Republic of Caste: Thinking Equality in the Time of Neoliberalism," give important looks at Indian society. He says that caste is still a strong force that affects how the economy and politics work. He often fights for the rights of Dalits, Adivasis, and other groups who are treated badly, which has made the government watch him closely. The Bhima Koregaon case, which started in 2018, led to him being arrested and accused of causing violence. He strongly denies this. Even though he faces big problems, he keeps writing and speaking out against unfairness.
