Arun Pati - A Lifestory
Unraveling Universe's Secrets, One Quantum Leap at a Time

Arun Kumar Pati is a leading Indian physicist known for his groundbreaking work in quantum information, quantum computation, and the foundations of quantum mechanics. After earning his degrees from Aska Science College, Berhampur University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Bombay, he held positions at BARC Mumbai, the University of Wales (UK), the Institute of Physics Bhubaneswar, and the Harish-Chandra Research Institute. Currently, he heads the Centre for Quantum Science and Technology at IIIT Hyderabad. His key contributions include the quantum no-deleting theorem, the no-hiding theorem, and advances in Remote State Preparation and stronger uncertainty relations.
He has received major honors such as the Indian Physical Society Award, IPA Young Physicist Award, Samanta Chandra Sekhar Award, Fellowships of IAS and NASI, the J.C. Bose Fellowship, and the Distinguished Alumni Award from Berhampur University. Ranked among the top 1% of physicists globally in 2020, Pati continues to inspire through both his research and mentorship, carrying the same curiosity that began in his childhood village to the global stage of quantum science.
