Chittaranjan Das - A Lifestory
Deshbandhu: Selfless Sacrifice, Bengal'S Champion, India'S Freedom Fighter

A person known for giving and doing things for others is a big deal in India's fight to be free. This person wasn't just a politician; they gave hope when Britain ruled. People called them 'Friend of the Nation' because they did so much, even helping the Bengal Renaissance. Think of a real hero, like in the 1982 movie, 'Gandhi', but focused on helping Bengal get better and be free. This person started helping out in the Non Cooperation Movement after 1920 and became a strong voice against British rule. Their smarts in law, like when they helped Aurobindo Ghosh in the Alipore Bomb Case, made them even more well known. On 01 January 1923, they started the Swaraj Party with Motilal Nehru, which was a new way to fight for freedom. They said, "Freedom is not a gift, it is our right," which made people want to be free even more. Even after they died too soon on 16 June 1925, what they did kept inspiring people to fight for freedom. They were more than just a leader; they showed how to truly care about their nation, a real 'Friend of the Nation'.
