Giridhar Madras - A Lifestory
Engineer: Sustainable Solutions, Pioneering Innovation, Impacting Chemistry And Society

A well known Indian chemical engineer has made a big name for himself in science and learning. His path, like the interesting story of the movie "Rocket Boys," shows hard work and a fresh way of thinking. He does not just do research; he always tries to make chemical engineering better. He knows a lot about different things, like making processes stronger, crystallization, and getting rid of waste. People who work with him often say he is a dreamer. One person, Professor R. Kumar, said that he can easily link basic science ideas to things we use in the real world. We can see this skill in his many papers and licenses, which prove he is a leader in his field. He was born in 1967. He has had a great career. After getting his PhD from the University of Utah in 1994, he came back to India and started working at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). He has been a big help there ever since. He works on technologies that are good for the Earth. This shows he cares about the world and wants to make a real change, like the Earth Day events that started in 1970 and happen every year. He has won important awards and been given special memberships, which show how much he has helped his field. He also motivates young chemical engineers.
