Hari Shivaram Rajguru was a prominent Indian revolutionary and freedom fighter who played a significant role in India's struggle for independence. Born in Khed, near Pune, Maharashtra, Rajguru was deeply moved by the injustices inflicted upon the Indian people by British rule. From a young age, he developed a strong sense of patriotism and a burning desire to liberate his country. He was drawn to revolutionary ideologies and believed in the necessity of armed resistance to overthrow the colonial government.

Rajguru became actively involved in revolutionary activities, joining the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association (HSRA), an organization committed to achieving complete independence for India through revolutionary means. He was a skilled marksman and an expert in explosives, contributing his expertise to the HSRA's operations. He participated in several significant events, including the assassination of British police officer J.P. Saunders in 1928, in response to the death of Lala Lajpat Rai, a respected nationalist leader, during a protest against the Simon Commission. This act, carried out with Bhagat Singh and Sukhdev, solidified Rajguru's position as a key figure in the Indian independence movement.

Following the assassination of Saunders, Rajguru, along with Bhagat Singh and Sukhdev, were arrested and put on trial. Despite facing insurmountable odds and a biased legal system, the trio remained steadfast in their revolutionary beliefs. They used the courtroom as a platform to propagate their ideals of complete independence and social justice, inspiring countless Indians to join the freedom struggle. On March 23, 1931, at the young age of 22, Rajguru, along with Bhagat Singh and Sukhdev, were hanged by the British authorities. Their sacrifice ignited a wave of nationalistic fervor across the country, further fueling the movement for independence and solidifying their place as martyrs in the annals of Indian history.
