Jitan Manjhi - A Lifestory

Jitan Ram Manjhi is an Indian politician hailing from the state of Bihar. He has had a long and varied career in Bihar politics, marked by periods of both alliance and opposition with major political parties. Manjhi's political journey began in the Indian National Congress, and he subsequently held various ministerial portfolios in successive state governments. A significant turning point in his career came when he joined the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) under the leadership of Lalu Prasad Yadav. He served as a minister in the RJD government, further solidifying his presence in Bihar's political landscape.

However, Manjhi's political trajectory took another turn when he aligned himself with Nitish Kumar and the Janata Dal (United) or JD(U). He became a prominent figure in the JD(U) government and eventually served as the Chief Minister of Bihar for a brief period. This tenure as Chief Minister was marked by political maneuvering and ultimately ended with his resignation. Following his departure from the JD(U), Manjhi formed his own political party, the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) or HAM(S). Through HAM(S), he continues to represent the interests of his constituency and advocate for the development of marginalized communities in Bihar.
