Muthuvel Karunanidhi, widely known as Kalaignar, was a towering figure in Indian politics, particularly in the state of Tamil Nadu. Born on June 3, 1924, in Thirukkuvalai, a village in the Nagapattinam district, he rose from humble beginnings to become one of the state's most influential and longestserving Chief Ministers. His journey began in his youth, fueled by a passion for social justice and equality, leading him to actively participate in the antiHindi agitations and the Dravidian movement spearheaded by Periyar E.V.
