Joining the IPS in 1972, this person quickly became known for new ideas and being brave in policing. As the head of prisons, this person made many changes in Tihar Jail, and won an award in 1994 called the Ramon Magsaysay Award. Besides their job, this person is known for working with India Vision Foundation, which helps make prisons better, stops drug use, and helps the police work with the community.
