Lokenath Bal - A Lifestory
Unyielding Spirit, Blazing For Freedom: A True Revolutionary

A person known for bravery and strong love for their country was very important in India's fight to be free. Their story, often told with stories of fighters shown in movies like "Chittagong" (but their life is bigger than just one movie), shows the spirit of giving up everything to help the nation become free. Born in 01 January 1905, they gave their life to freeing India from British rule. This promise made them a key member of the Indian Republican Army. They are most famous for their brave part in the Chittagong armoury raid in 01 January 1930, a carefully planned act led by Masterda Surya Sen. This event, a strong challenge to the British rule, wanted to take weapons and stop the British from controlling things. Their actions during the raid and fights with British soldiers showed great bravery and skill. A colleague said, "This person was fearless and dedicated, always putting the nation first." After the Chittagong armoury raid, they kept playing a big part in the freedom movement, inspiring many with their strong dedication. They sadly died in 01 January 1933 at the young age of 28. But their story as a brave freedom fighter still matters, reminding us of the sacrifices made by people like them to make India free.
