Master Singh - A Lifestory

A well known Sikh leader was a powerful person. Born in 1885, he worked hard for India to be free and helped shape Punjab. He cared a lot about his people's rights. While a movie like "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha" might show a character named Tara Singh, the real leader's story is about being strong in politics. He wasn't fighting bad guys in a movie. He was dealing with the real problems of a country dividing and a small group of people wanting to feel safe and be respected. He was good at speaking and his words moved many Sikhs. People who worked with him said he was brave and stood strong, like a "lion of Punjab." He guided the Shiromani Akali Dal through hard times, pushing for a separate state where people spoke Punjabi. He wanted this "Punjabi Suba" because he thought it was the only way to protect the Sikh culture and politics. People still talk about what he did, but he definitely changed Indian politics, especially before and after 1947. He led through the difficult times before and after India became free, always doing what he thought was right, even when it was hard.
