Nagesh Kukunoor is a highly acclaimed Indian film director, screenwriter, producer, and actor, known for his independent and often unconventional storytelling. He was born and raised in Hyderabad, India, and holds a degree in Environmental Engineering from Osmania University. After working as an environmental consultant in the United States for several years, Kukunoor decided to pursue his passion for filmmaking. He selffinanced and directed his debut film, "Hyderabad Blues" (1998), a lowbudget romantic comedy that garnered critical acclaim for its fresh perspective and relatable characters. This success marked the beginning of his career as an independent filmmaker.
