This person was good at many things. Born in 1898, this person was a great Marathi writer and poet. This person was also a well known teacher and started the important newspaper, Maratha. This person could write touching poems and then give smart thoughts on what was happening in politics. This person's effect on Marathi writing is big, with works that many people liked. Besides writing, this person also made movies. Known as 'Acharya Atre', this person directed and made films like "Shyamchi Aai" in 1953, which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film. More than just an artist, this person talked about what was happening in society. This person used writing to speak honestly, often with a funny way that made people think. People who worked with this person looked up to this person for being brave and smart. Someone once said, "This person was very strong, a writer who was not afraid to question things." This person's work still inspires writers and thinkers in Maharashtra. This person died in 1969, leaving behind many great works.
