Radhanath Swami, born Richard Slavin in Chicago in 1951, is a spiritual leader, author, and ISKCON guru renowned for his humanitarian work and teachings of Bhakti Yoga. His spiritual journey began in his youth, fueled by a quest for deeper meaning and understanding of life. This quest led him on a transformative pilgrimage across Europe and Asia, where he encountered diverse cultures, spiritual traditions, and profound challenges. He embraced a life of renunciation and dedicated himself to intense spiritual practice.

During his travels, he spent considerable time in India, immersing himself in the study of ancient scriptures, including the Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam. He encountered various spiritual teachers and eventually accepted Srila Prabhupada, the founder of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), as his guru. He formally joined ISKCON and was initiated into the Vaishnava tradition.

Radhanath Swami is actively involved in numerous charitable and social welfare projects. He established the Govardhan Eco Village (GEV), an awardwinning sustainable farming community near Mumbai, India, which focuses on organic farming, rural development, and environmental protection. He is also involved in initiatives providing food relief, disaster relief, and healthcare to underprivileged communities. His teachings emphasize the importance of compassion, selfless service, and spiritual connection in leading a fulfilling life. He travels extensively, lecturing and sharing his insights on Bhakti Yoga and its practical application in modern society. He has authored several books, including "The Journey Home," a memoir chronicling his early life and spiritual quest, which has been widely acclaimed and translated into numerous languages.
