Rimi Sen Family Tree

Rimi Sen, born Shubhomitra Sen on September 21, 1981, is an Indian actress and film producer who has predominantly appeared in Hindi and Telugu films. She made her acting debut in the Telugu film Nee Thodu Kavali (2002). However, her breakthrough role came with the Hindi comedy film Hungama (2003), directed by Priyadarshan. This film propelled her into the limelight and established her as a promising comedic actress.

Following the success of Hungama, Rimi Sen starred in several commercially successful Hindi films, often as part of ensemble casts. Notable films include Baghban (2003), where she played the adopted daughter of Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini, Dhoom (2004), a highoctane action film where she portrayed the wife of Abhishek Bachchan's character, and Garam Masala (2005), another successful comedy directed by Priyadarshan. Her performances in these films cemented her popularity with the Indian audience.

Throughout her career, Rimi Sen showcased her versatility by taking on diverse roles, ranging from comedic to dramatic. She appeared in films such as Phir Hera Pheri (2006), a sequel to the popular comedy Hera Pheri, and Johnny Gaddaar (2007), a neonoir thriller. She also participated in the reality television show Bigg Boss 9 in 2015.

In recent years, Rimi Sen has ventured into film production. She produced the critically acclaimed film Budhia Singh – Born to Run (2016), a biographical sports drama based on the life of Budhia Singh, the world's youngest marathon runner. This marked a significant shift in her career, demonstrating her interest in supporting meaningful and impactful cinema.
