Controversial Officer: Duty And Deceit Walked A Blurry Line

Someone who was once known as a tough cop in the Mumbai Police had a career full of praise and trouble. Born on 22 May 1972, he first became famous for his work in the Mumbai crime unit in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Some coworkers thought he was a very good detective, and some even said his ways were like the rough movies such as "Ab Tak Chhappan," where people were killed outside of the law. He worked on many important cases, which made him known as someone who could finish the work, even if he had to break the rules. But his career changed a lot in 2004 when he was stopped from working after someone died in police custody. This person was accused of the 2003 Ghatkopar bombing. This event made things hard for him, and he finally left the police in 2007. After some time off, he came back to the police in 2020. At first, his return seemed good for the crime unit, especially because there was more crime happening during the COVID19 pandemic. He worked on cases such as the TRP scam and the investigation into designer Anvay Naik's death by suicide. But he did not stay back for long, because he was arrested in March 2021 in relation to the Antilia bomb scare case. This case had to do with a car full of explosives found near Mukesh Ambani's house and the later killing of businessman Mansukh Hiren. This arrest made people look closely at what he had done in the past and what he was doing now, which changed how people thought about his career forever.
