Sankho Chaudhuri was a prominent Indian sculptor, known for his pioneering contributions to modern Indian sculpture. Born in 1916 in Bengal, he developed an early interest in art, fueled by the rich cultural environment surrounding him. He received formal training in sculpture at the Kala Bhavan, Santiniketan, under the guidance of renowned artists like Ramkinkar Baij, whose influence is evident in Chaudhuri's early works.
