A well known name in Bharatanatyam is someone who is great at it. This person is not just a dancer, but a wise teacher who has given their life to keeping this old art form alive and helping it grow. Their journey started way before the movie "Natarang" (2010) made people like classical dance again. It has been a journey of strong love and dedication. Born in 1937, this person first studied law, but they really loved dance. It was something they had to do, so they learned from great teachers like Guru Kattumannarkoil Muthukumaran Pillai. Their hard work paid off when they started Ganesa Natyalaya in New Delhi in 1969. This school has taught Bharatanatyam to many dancers over the years. Besides teaching, this person is also a great choreographer, making new shows that mix old traditions with today's ideas. One of their famous works is "Jaya Jaya Devi," which many people have praised. Their work in this field has been honored with many awards, including the Padma Bhushan in 2013.
