His family recognized his unique nature and supported his spiritual pursuits. He travelled extensively throughout South India, visiting temples and engaging in spontaneous acts of devotion. He was often seen in a state of ecstatic bliss, sometimes singing, laughing, or remaining completely silent. His actions, though often unpredictable, were interpreted by devotees as expressions of divine inspiration and profound spiritual insight.

He spent a significant portion of his life in Tiruvannamalai, the town surrounding the sacred Arunachala mountain, which he considered to be a manifestation of Lord Shiva. He considered Arunachala as his Guru. He remained there until his death in 1929, and his samadhi (final resting place) continues to be a place of pilgrimage for devotees seeking his blessings and guidance.
