Filmmaking With A Twist: Unexpected Stories, Unconventional Style
Shirish Kunder is an Indian filmmaker, known primarily for his work as a director, editor, producer, and composer in the Bollywood film industry. He began his career as an editor, gaining recognition for his work on films like "Chameli" and "Paheli," showcasing his skills in crafting narratives through visual storytelling. His directorial debut came with the 2006 film "JaanEMann," a romantic musical starring Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Preity Zinta. While the film had a unique concept and a grand scale, it received mixed reviews at the box office.
Following "JaanEMann," Kunder directed "Tees Maar Khan" in 2010, a comedy featuring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif. The film, despite its hype and star cast, was critically panned and became a commercial disappointment. Kunder later ventured into short films, directing "Kriti" in 2016, a psychological thriller starring Manoj Bajpayee, Neha Sharma, and Radhika Apte. "Kriti" garnered positive attention for its suspenseful narrative and performances.
Beyond directing, Kunder has also composed music for some of his films, demonstrating his versatility as a filmmaker. He is married to choreographer and director Farah Khan, and they have three children.
