Sid Sriram is a multifaceted IndianAmerican musician, celebrated for his prowess as a Carnatic vocalist, singersongwriter, and music producer. Born and raised in Chennai, India, until the age of one, he then relocated with his family to California, where he was immersed in the rich traditions of Carnatic music from a young age, primarily under the tutelage of his mother, Latha Sriram. This early exposure laid a strong foundation for his future musical endeavors. While pursuing a degree in contemporary writing and production at the Berklee College of Music, Sriram simultaneously honed his Carnatic skills and began exploring the fusion of diverse musical styles.
His breakthrough into the Indian music scene came with the song "Adiye" in 2013, composed by A.R. Rahman for the film "Kadal." This marked the beginning of a highly successful career, characterized by his distinctive vocal style that blends traditional Carnatic elements with contemporary pop and R&B influences. Sriram has since become a prominent voice in the South Indian film industry, particularly in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada cinema. He's lent his voice to numerous charttopping hits, earning critical acclaim and a devoted fan base.
Beyond his playback singing, Sid Sriram is also a prolific independent artist, releasing his own original music that showcases his songwriting and production abilities.
