Sunil Joshi is a former Indian international cricketer who primarily played as a leftarm orthodox spinner and a handy lowerorder batsman. Born on June 6, 1970, in Gadag, Karnataka, he represented India in both Test and One Day International (ODI) formats. Joshi made his international debut in an ODI against South Africa in 1996 and his Test debut against Bangladesh in 2000. A consistent performer in domestic cricket for Karnataka, he was known for his economical bowling and ability to extract turn and bounce from helpful surfaces. He was a vital part of the Karnataka team that dominated Indian domestic cricket in the late 1990s.

Throughout his international career, Joshi was in and out of the Indian team, facing stiff competition from other spinners. Nevertheless, he consistently delivered solid performances whenever given the opportunity. He was a useful contributor with the bat, capable of scoring crucial runs down the order.
