Vikram Rathour - A Lifestory

Vikram Rathour is a former Indian cricketer and current cricket coach. Born on March 26, 1969, in Jalandhar, Punjab, Rathour was a righthanded opening batsman who represented India in 6 Tests and 7 One Day Internationals between 1996 and 1997. While his international career was relatively short, he enjoyed a prolific domestic career, primarily playing for Punjab. He was known for his solid technique and ability to accumulate runs consistently at the domestic level. Rathour amassed over 11,000 firstclass runs, including a highest score of 304 not out, showcasing his talent and dedication to the sport.

Following his playing career, Rathour transitioned into coaching. He has held various coaching positions, including serving as a batting coach for the Punjab team. He also worked as a selector in the national selection panel. His experience as a seasoned firstclass player and his understanding of the game made him a valuable asset in these roles. In 2019, Rathour was appointed as the batting coach for the Indian national cricket team, succeeding Sanjay Bangar. In this role, he is responsible for working with the Indian batsmen, helping them refine their techniques, develop strategies, and prepare for international matches. His tenure as the batting coach has seen the Indian team achieve considerable success, with consistent performances from the batting lineup across all formats of the game.
