lifestory

Vineeta Singh is a prominent Indian entrepreneur and businesswoman best known as the cofounder and CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics, a rapidly growing cosmetics brand in India. Born and raised in Delhi, she pursued her undergraduate studies in electrical engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. Driven by a desire to create her own path, she opted out of a lucrative placement offer and instead pursued a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad. This educational foundation provided her with the technical and managerial skills necessary to navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship. Prior to launching SUGAR Cosmetics, Vineeta gained valuable experience through various entrepreneurial ventures.

She cofounded Quetzal Online Private Limited, a company focused on providing background verification services. She also started a beauty subscription service named Fab Bag, which offered curated beauty products to subscribers. These experiences, while not always successful in their initial iterations, provided her with critical insights into the Indian beauty market and the needs of its consumers.

In 2015, Vineeta cofounded SUGAR Cosmetics with her husband, Kaushik Mukherjee. Recognizing a gap in the market for highquality, affordable cosmetics tailored to Indian skin tones, they set out to create a brand that resonated with the modern Indian woman. SUGAR Cosmetics quickly gained popularity for its vibrant colors, longlasting formulas, and effective marketing strategies. Vineeta's leadership has been instrumental in building SUGAR Cosmetics into a leading beauty brand, with a strong online presence and a growing network of retail stores across India. Beyond her entrepreneurial achievements, Vineeta is also recognized for her participation as a judge on the popular Indian reality television show, Shark Tank India, further solidifying her position as a role model for aspiring entrepreneurs.
