Yukteswar Giri - A Lifestory
Enlightened Yogi: Guiding Seekers Towards Selfrealization And Spiritual Awakening

This person was not like most; they were a light of deep wisdom in India in the early 1900s. Born as Priya Nath Karar, they later became Sri Yukteswar Giri when they became a monk. As an Indian monk and yogi, they are most known as the teacher of Paramahansa Yogananda, who wrote the famous spiritual book "Autobiography of a Yogi." This book made the teacher famous around the world after it was released in 1946. Besides Yogananda, they also taught Swami Satyananda Giri, which made their importance in the Kriya Yoga line even stronger. They lived from 1855 to 1936, a time of big social and spiritual changes. They started places for spiritual learning in Serampore and Puri. Yogananda praised Yukteswar Giri for knowing the scriptures deeply and for being able to mix Eastern spirituality with Western science. Their book, "The Holy Science," released in 1894, shows this mix, trying to bring together the teachings of the Bible and Hindu scriptures. Even now, they still inspire people looking for truth with their teachings on finding oneself and the importance of a balanced life.
