Things like people moving because of wars or simply seeking better lives could explain where this surname is found today. Where people settled also matters; if Daggu families stuck together, the surname would be concentrated in one area. If they spread out, it would be more widespread.

We can guess at a few possibilities, though. Dagoo is one, a simple sound change. Another is Daggue, adding a silent e – a common thing with surnames. A less likely, but possible, version is Daggus, adding an s. Thats less usual as a surname, though.
