Aurangpore is a town in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is located in the Nadia district. The town is known for its tea gardens. The population of the town is around 350,000. The town is also known for its traditional Baul music. The name 'Aurangpore' is derived from the Bengali words 'aural' meaning 'ear' and 'pore' meaning 'a hole'. The town was founded by the Muslim Nawab of Bengal, Murshid Quli Khan in 1717.
