The Achham people are an ethnic group found in the Achham District in the Terai region of Nepal. Achham is a term used to describe a number of small groups of people who share a common cultural heritage. The Achham people are believed to be descendants of the ancient Karkot people. Achham culture is characterized by its traditional animist beliefs and practices, as well as its strong tradition of agriculture. The Achham people are also known for their distinctive hand-woven fabric known as Achhami.
