The Achakoll or Achakollu are an indigenous people of the state of Kerala in India. They are a sub-group of the Malayalam-speaking people. Achakollu speak the Achakollu language which is a member of the Dravidian family. The Achakollu are believed to be the descendants of the ancient Chera dynasty. They are one of the Scheduled Tribes of India. The Achakollu are believed to have migrated from the Middle East to Kerala about 2,000 years ago. They are one of the few indigenous peoples in Kerala who continue to practice traditional agriculture. The Achakollu are also known for their hand-woven fabric, known as Achakollu mundu.
