The Anagundalwad are believed to be a sub-group of the Konkan Koli community. They are believed to have migrated from the Konkan Coast, possibly during the 16th century. They are now found in the districts of Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, and Raigad. The Anagundalwad are mainly engaged in agriculture and fishing. They are also involved in woodworking and basket-making. The Anagundalwad speak the Anagundi language. There are minor variations in the dialects spoken by the different clans of the Anagundalwad. The Anagundalwad are Hindus.
