The Aralakatti people are a Tamil-speaking people who inhabit the Aralakattai Hills in the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu, India. They are considered to be a sub-group of the Vanniyar community and are believed to be the descendants of the Vanniyar chieftain Aralakattu Nedunchezhiyan. The Aralakattai Hills form a natural fortress and the people have maintained their traditional way of life and customs. The Aralakattai Hills are known for their production of black tea.
