Bagari Galla is an ethnic group of the Galla people who inhabit the areas of the former British Somaliland and the northeastern region of Ethiopia. They are a sub-group of the Galla people and speak the Galla language. The Bagari Galla are believed to have originated in the area around the city of Burao in the British Somaliland. In the late 19th century, they were displaced by the Dervish invasion of British Somaliland and moved to the northeastern region of Ethiopia. There, they settled in the Ogaden region. In the early 21st century, they numbered around 50,000. The Bagari Galla are a nomadic people who follow the seasons. They are cattle herders and farmers. They are Muslims and practice traditional customs such as polygamy and traditional marriage ceremonies.
