The Bandimuttyalammam are a nomadic people, and their traditional way of life is based on herding cattle. They are also involved in agricultural activities, and are known for their handicrafts, including pottery and weaving. The Bandimuttyalammam are a socially conservative community, and are traditionalists in regards to their customs and culture. They are a patriarchal society, and are governed by a traditional system of governance known as the matrilineal system.
