They are the descendants of the Javanese people who migrated from the central and eastern parts of Java in the seventeenth century. The Bandungles are a Muslim minority group and their customs and culture are similar to those of the Javanese people. There are several variations of the Bandungles name, including Bandung, Bandung Barat, Bandung Timur, Bandung Utara, and Bandung Selatan.
