History:

Bhogavarapu is a Telugu caste found mainly in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It is believed to be an offshoot of the Kapu caste.
The Bhogavarapu caste is believed to have emerged in the 16th century during the reign of the Vijayanagara Empire. It is believed that the Bhogavarapus were originally a group of warriors who fought for the Vijayanagara Empire and were rewarded with land grants.
