BICCHADAS or BICCHADASS (Greek: Μικράς Αριστοτέλης, Mykras Aristotelis; c. 490 BC – c. 405 BC) was a Greek statesman, orator and general. He served as strategos of the Athenian empire in 431 BC, and as its first and only tyrant from 404 BC until his death. Bicchadas was the son of Ariston of Athens, and the father of the Athenian general Alcibiades. He was a member of the Alcmaeonid family. He was also the brother of Nicias and the uncle of Demosthenes. Bicchadas was a popular politician in Athens. He served as strategos of the Athenian empire in 431 BC, and as its first and only tyrant from 404 BC until his death. He is most famous for his speeches against the Peloponnesian War. He also played a significant role in the Peace of Nicias of 421 BC. Bicchadas was assassinated by the son of the Theban general Epaminondas in 405 BC.
