Bicholears are a people indigenous to the state of Chiapas in southern Mexico. They are a Maya people and their culture is based on agriculture and animal husbandry. There are two main dialects of the Bicholears: the Bicholear de San Cristobal and the Bicholear de San Andres. The Bicholear de San Cristobal speak a more rural dialect while the Bicholear de San Andres speak a more urban dialect. The Bicholears are a small tribe with a population of around 2,000. They are Catholic and their traditional religion is based on the worship of the moon and the sun. They are also known for their distinctive clothing and their traditional drums.
