CARUNAGARAN The Carunaagaran people are a Filipino ethnic group who are descendants of the Carunagaran people, an aboriginal tribe that inhabited the Carunaagaran Islands in the Philippines. The Carunaagaran people are believed to have migrated to the islands in the early 17th century. They are now found throughout the islands of the Visayas, predominantly in the provinces of Leyte and Samar. There are also sizable populations in the provinces of Mindanao and Palawan. The Carunaagaran people are predominantly Catholic, and their culture is heavily influenced by the Spanish colonial period. They are also known for their traditional weaving, wood carving, and pottery.
