The Chandawarams are a Tamil-speaking community found in the state of Tamil Nadu in southern India. They are a Scheduled Caste and are one of the most numerous Scheduled Tribes in Tamil Nadu. They are also known as the Pandavar or the Pandavarai. The Chandawaram community is found in the districts of Thanjavur, Tirunelveli, and Kumbakonam. They are also found in the neighbouring state of Kerala. The Chandawaram community is believed to have originated in the area around the present-day city of Thanjavur. They are a agricultural community and are engaged in the cultivation of rice, coconuts, and other crops. The Chandawarams are also involved in the manufacture of mats and baskets. The Chandawarams are Hindus and their customs and culture are similar to those of the Tamil people. They speak the Tamil language and are Hindus. There are no significant variations among the Chandawarams.
