Chanhassen is a small town located in Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 2,865 at the 2010 census. Chanhassen is the largest incorporated city in Hennepin County. The city was named after Pierre Chanhassen, a French fur trader who was killed by the Sioux in 1825. Pierre Chanhassen was originally from the town of Lachine, Quebec. Chanhassen is located at . According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of , of which is land and is water. Chanhassen is located in the humid continental climate zone.
