The Channurwar are a Scheduled Tribe residing in the Channur district of Kerala, India. They are a sub-group of the Vannur community. They speak the Channurwar dialect of the Malayalam language. The Channurwar are believed to be the descendants of the Chera dynasty, who were displaced by the Pandyas in the 12th century. They are also believed to have migrated to Kerala in the early 14th century. They are a agricultural community, and are involved in fishing, toddy tapping, and weaving. They are also known for their traditional music and dance.
