Description:
The Chatrajis are a sub-caste of the Marwari people, a community found primarily in the states of Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh in India. The Chatrajis are believed to be descended from the Rajputs, a warrior caste who ruled most of northern India during the Middle Ages. The origin of the Chatrajis is not known for certain, but some sources suggest that they are descended from the Rajputs who migrated from Rajasthan to Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. In Gujarat, they are believed to have settled in the region of Kutch, while in Madhya Pradesh, they are believed to have settled in the region of Malwa. The customs of the Chatrajis are similar to those of other Marwari people. They practice arranged marriages, follow a strict caste system, and observe Hindu festivals and rituals. The Chatrajis have several variations of their surname, including Chatra, Chatrana, Chatrani, and Chatraniya.
