The Chennakesha Mohawk were later involved in the War of 1812, and participated in the Battle of Tippecanoe in 1811. The Chennakesha Mohawk tribe is headquartered in the town of Ogdensburg in present-day St. Lawrence County, New York. The tribe has a population of approximately 2,500 members. The tribe is primarily engaged in agriculture, and operates a casino and hotel. The Chennakesha Mohawk tribe also participates in cultural activities, including powwows and traditional ceremonies.
