The Chikkachar family is a Brahmin caste found in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The Chikkachar are a sub-caste of the Thevar caste. The Chikkachar are a landowning caste and are found mainly in the districts of Thiruvannamalai, Thanjavur, Kanchipuram and Tiruvarur. The Chikkachar are mainly involved in agriculture, but also have a few businesses. The Chikkachar are Hindus and follow the Vaishnavite tradition. They speak Tamil and have a traditional caste dance, the Koothu.
