The ChinnaLachayy are an ethnic group residing in the state of Kerala in southern India. They are a sub-group of the Malayalam-speaking people and are classified as a Scheduled Tribe. The ChinnaLachayy are believed to be the descendants of the Lachayyar, a community of traders who settled in Kerala in the early centuries of the Christian era. The ChinnaLachayy are a predominantly agricultural community, and are known for their embroidery and weaving skills.
