Bhagavati is a Hindu Goddess who is revered as the consort of Vishnu. Variations of her name include Bagavati, Bagwati, Bagvati, Bagha, Baghavati, and Bhagavati. She is also known by the epithet of 'Lady of the Lake,' because she is said to have resided in a lake in the Himalayas. Bhagavati is believed to have originated in the ancient kingdom of Kuru in the northwestern region of India. She is also associated with the Vedic god Vishnu. Bhagavati is a goddess of love, beauty, and wealth. Her devotees celebrate her festivals, known as the Bhagavati Mahotsav.
