They are also involved in the production of textiles, dairy products and leather goods. The Chokkanadhams are a Hindu community and are traditionally Shaivaite Hindus. They are also found in the Christian community. The Chokkanadhams speak the Tamil language. The Chokkanadhams have a traditional martial art known as kalaripayattu.
