Citracetums are a genus of flowering plants in the citrus family. The genus is native to south-central Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina, but has been naturalized in many other parts of the world. The genus contains about 60 species of shrubs and trees, many of which are cultivated as citrus plants. The genus is divided into two sections, the smaller of which, Citracetum, includes the majority of the species. The section is further divided into subsections based on the arrangement of the flowers. The flowers are generally white, but some species have yellow or orange flowers. The fruit is a small, green, seed-bearing fruit. The genus was first described by the French botanist Louis Jean Pierre Vieillot in 1805. The name is derived from the Latin word citra, meaning 'small', and the Greek word kétos, meaning 'a kind of tree'.
