The caste is believed to have originated from the Yadav caste of Rajasthan. The caste is also known by other names including Dusadh, Dusadhgiri, Dusadhar, Dusadhwar, Dusadhwari, Dusadhwaria, Dusadhwariya, and Dusadhwariya Rajput. The caste is considered to be a warrior caste. The Rajputs are a warrior caste and the Dwarasinghs are no exception.
